V. LAND CONSERVATION

SVI's ultimate goal is to build an eco-village to provide training programs in permaculture and appropriate technology that encourages a sustainable future for the Earth and its inhabitants. The first phase of eco-village development includes expansion of current infrastructure to provide improved facilities for groups, a permanent year-round bio-shelter for interns, additional alternative energy systems, more advanced communications equipment, a research laboratory, construction of a passive solar greenhouse and constructed wetlands. SVI's more immediate goal is to offer an example of sustainable living by sharing our innovative technology, natural environment, and lifestyle with interns, visitors, workshop participants, and through outreach with the general public.
